Flowforms Virbela® for Stirring and Oxygenation

In natural waterways, water regenerates through movement. Flowforms make it possible, over a short distance, to intensify bacterial activity in both natural and constructed areas through a simple, playful, and low-energy process. Flowforms Virbela® then act like respiratory organs — the “lungs” — of the environment being treated.

Water Retention Ponds, Lakes, Pools, Lagoons & Rainwater Reservoirs

Reactivation of microbial life.

The swirling movements of water through Flowforms provide efficient and long-lasting oxygenation. They significantly reduce organic pollution (suspended solids, turbidity, BOD₅, COD, etc.). They also curb algal growth (see opposite: left — installation of Flowforms on a pond; right — after 4 months). In doing so, they restore water regeneration processes and help prevent eutrophication.

Irrigation

Reactivation of the organic life of irrigation water

Water from a reservoir stirred by Flowforms Virbela® under favourable conditions helps to:

– Support and enhance microbial life in the soil,

– Increase the soil’s ability to retain water,

– Strengthen crop health,

– Stimulate plant growth, …

The rhythmic motion created by Flowforms® can also naturally regulate water temperature: when exposed to sunlight, the cascading flow slightly warms the water in a reservoir; conversely, stirring in cooler hours can help reduce water temperature.

Animal Watering

Revitalising water structure — a source of vitality

In livestock farming, early observations show an overall improvement in animal health. Regardless of the water volume being treated, Flowforms installed at the outlet of a pipe (from a borehole, well, or supply network) vigorously revitalise the water in the trough and help stabilise its temperature according to ambient conditions.

Example of application:
A farmer reported a marked improvement in the health of his pig herd (e.g. complete cessation of erysipelas disease) since using revitalised water for drinking and for germinating feed grains. (Minimum footprint for 3 units: 0.5 m².) These installations can also be powered by wind or solar energy.

Fermented Extracts, Herbal Teas, Preparations

Enhancing the beneficial effects of agricultural treatments

Passing water through Flowforms increases the effectiveness of agricultural preparations and treatments.

Example of application:
For the production of herbal teas and macerations in 6000-litre tanks, a Flowform is installed at the filling stage. Results show shorter fermentation times and higher quality of the final product. These systems can be implemented in compact setups — for example, 3 resin Flowforms (10 kg each) occupying only 2 m², capable of handling a flow of 10–18 m³/h. They allow closed-loop stirring in large-capacity tanks.

Agricultural Effluents

Improving breeding and environmental conditions

Oxygenating agricultural effluents through Flowforms is particularly beneficial for reducing the negative impact of these effluents on farmland after spreading and for significantly reducing unpleasant odours.

In Australia, where Flowforms are used for stirring large volumes of effluents before spreading, fields are no longer suffocated after application, and livestock can return to graze just a few days later — whereas typically, it would take at least a month before animals could safely return to the pasture.

Fish Farming / Aquaculture / Aquaponics / Spirulina

Improving reproduction conditions

Water circulation through Flowforms in aquaculture systems ensures efficient oxygenation and a noticeable improvement in overall water quality, enhancing conditions for all living organisms. Reproduction rates and the vitality of aquatic species are notably improved as a result.
