Fountains and cascades in architecture
A continuous pursuit
Fountains build a bridge between art and science
These fountains and cascades blend harmoniously with all styles of architecture and landscape. Beyond their function, they enhance the interactions within natural or recreated biotopes. This concept is the focus of ongoing research. The Vasques Vives bridge the gap between art and science, between human needs and the cultural impact they provide — between the useful and the beautiful.
A method that bridges art and science
Today, this research work is coordinated by the International Flow Design Research Group at the Healing Water Institute in England. Professionals — sculptors, fountain designers, and landscape artists — from around the world are gathered within an international association founded in 2001 (IFA, International Flowform Association). This network enables each member to strengthen their professional skills in scientific and artistic research, technical development, and knowledge sharing. These training programmes bring together artists, designers, engineers, teachers, and enthusiasts committed to a qualitative approach to living water.
