complement to phytoremediation systems<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5c01704 elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Flowforms Virbela\u00ae were installed upstream of a phytoremediation setup to study their effects compared to a system without Flowforms. The study revealed that total nitrogen and BOD\u2085 (Biological Oxygen Demand over 5 days) removal rates improved respectively from 49% to 71% for total nitrogen and from 80.9% to 86.1% for BOD\u2085 \u2014 in just one gravity-fed pass through the Flowform system (Ung et al., 2022).<\/p>\n<p>Flowforms Virbela\u00ae can thus complement traditional wastewater treatment systems \u2014 lagooning or
